On the road we loved to eat fresh healthy foods like the fish we caught from the ocean and the produce we bought from the markets.
This year I have been researching and writing about sustainable living in my school work, learning more ways everyday to be more resourceful and aware of keeping our planet healthy, so I thought I would now write about how we can also take care of our own health and well being.
Giuseppe's 3 tips for a healthier lifestyle
1. Move
It is so important to Move your body, to find an activity that you enjoy and do this everyday. Some ideas are kicking the footy, soccer, riding your bike, walking your pet, hiking, going to the gym. Exercise helps strengthen our muscles, joints and keeps our organs healthy. I was lucky enough to get an early birthday present this year, riding my new bike is the way I like moving my body.
2. Food
A healthy diet is also very important to make sure that we get all the nutrients that we need for our body to be healthy. The most important foods are fresh fruit and vegetables plus a healthy portion of proteins, meats, seafood and grains. Really you just need to have a balance of all of these. In my family we have “sometimes food & drinks” that we only have on special occasions or over the weekend. This means that we can still treat ourselves but not put too much unhealthy foods into our body. My favourite fresh juice is currently apple orange and celery on ice, delicious.
3. Mind
A healthy mind can help us have a healthier lifestyle. When we move our body and eat well we feel better, this makes us also feel good in our thoughts, we feel happy and make better decisions in our lifestyle. A happy cheerful thought of mine is me catching a tuna with my bait runner rod.
